Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro’s Covid-19 test result positive
Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro announces he has been caught by Covid-19.
Bolsonaro, 65, told reporters on Tuesday that the result of the Covid-19 test after the fever had risen the previous day was positive.
Facing the cameras with a mask in the capital Brasilia, Bolsonaro said, “I’m fine, I’m normal. I even want to go around here, but I can’t do it because of medical advice.”
Bolsonaro said that his fever was up to 38 degrees, and that his lungs were clean. Bolsonaro stated that his doctors felt better after giving him hydroxychloroquine and antibiotics.
Bolsonaro reported that he will continue working from home after that.
Since the beginning of the global epidemic, the President has been collecting criticism for not following the Covid-19 measures and belittling the epidemic.
Bolsonaro previously made a statement saying, “If the virus gets infected, I don’t have to worry. I don’t feel anything. The worst is like a little flu or a cold.”
Brazil became the second country hit by the Covid-19 outbreak after the United States. The number of Covid-19 cases in the country exceeded 1 million 620 thousand, and the loss of tea exceeded 65 thousand.
